Friends,
We have great news to share: the OFAH (Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters) has just published a letter enumerating the many environmental concerns presented by the proposed Tidman development. The letter is attached to this email, and will also be available on the PWEP and OFAH websites shortly. The letter has been sent to the Municipality, addressed to Mayor Craig and Council.
The OFAH letter is a really important contribution to our cause, because we now have another expert opinion backing our position. The letter confirms many of the issues and concerns we at PWEP identified from the start, and we believe it will help our case in the judicial review process.
All of this is really encouraging: our case keeps growing stronger, and as we wait for the court hearing date to be announced we will continue to work hard behind the scenes, gathering whatever new information and evidence we can. Furthermore, our legal counsel has advised us that the delay in waiting for the case to be heard may negatively affect the developer in multiple ways. So, we will hold the line!
And we couldn't do it without you all. We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous contributions to our crowdfunding campaign. As we ramp up for the judicial review hearing, we hope you will continue to support us by helping us to reach our goal, so that we can pay for legal fees. So please, if you can, donate here.
Protecting Sensitive Natural Environments in Inverhuron is a project done in partnership with the Small Change Fund. SCF provides PWEP with the crowdfunding platform and expert advice, thus helping grassroots organizations such as ours amplify our impact. Your donations go directly to our project, in support of the work we are doing.
We will reach out to you again with more news soon – there's a few exciting things we've been working on, and soon we will be ready to make several announcements. We will also set a date to have a PWEP open house + information session at Philosopher's in the coming weeks.
Stay tuned!
