Friends,
We hope you will come see us at Inverhuron's annual bake sale on August 2nd, 9am-1pm at lower McIntyre Park. PWEP will have a table at the event where you can talk to the team, learn more about our work, show your support and celebrate our collective achievements!
As Inverhuron's environmental advocacy group, PWEP is:
2) Ensuring responsible land use for decades to come
3) Protecting water quality (more on this soon)
We recently had a huge win in the ongoing judicial review regarding the Tidman development, when the court granted PWEP standing. As part of this effort, Small Change Fund has been an invaluable partner working alongside us to protect Inverhuron from harmful development. We are now gearing up for the next round of hearings, and we hope you can continue to support this effort by donating here.
Our court case is likely to have a significant ripple effect on other development proposals in Inverhuron, including the Sundance proposal, as they await the outcome of the Tidman case.
As for land use, thanks to our efforts the historic Inverhuron settlement area north of CR 15 will likely be down-designated to a Hamlet. Our engagement with county planners regarding the designation of the lakeshore south of CR 15 is ongoing.
We've come a long way, and continue to expand our program in alignment with our mission. None of our work would have been possible without your continued trust and support. Let's keep building our movement together and work toward a sustainable future for Inverhuron. Please remember to visit our website and follow us on social media.
In gratitude,
The Team @PWEP
