April 8, 2024 - Thank you! & Tidman development update

Updated: Jun 16, 2024

Friends,

First of all, we want to say a huge Thank You to all of you who have so generously contributed to our efforts in preserving the natural environment of Inverhuron at the Tidman site! Since we put up our crowdfunding site in partnership with the Small Change Fund only two weeks ago, we have already raised more than half of our funding goal! This is all thanks to the generous support of community members like you, and we are profoundly grateful.

Your contributions allow us to continue our work toward protecting this area we all know and love, so please continue to spread the word. Now more than ever we need your support. You can donate here.

We have recently been alerted to the fact that there is some activity at the Tidman development site. Those of you who are currently in Inverhuron might have noticed that there are new survey stakes and yellow caution tape has been strung all through the development forest. The intention may be to remove dead ash trees, but we are seeking clarification on this point from the developer.

As you know, PWEP is contesting the Tidman development in court through a judicial review process. We have contacted our legal counsel for advice regarding the tree removal issue and are in the process of putting together a rapid response. Our goal will be to prevent any damage at the site before our case has been heard in court. Your continued support fuels our ongoing efforts to protect this fragile natural environment, a collaborative project made possible through our partnership with Small Change Fund.

We also want to reassure you that we are keeping an eye on the Sundance project as well, and if we are able to stop the Tidman development in court this would set an important precedent and likely discourage other development proposals in the area.

As always, we will keep you posted as things develop. Stay tuned!

In gratitude,

The Team @ PWEP
